What We Offer

Here you can view each of our course offerings as well as our level descriptions. We want to ensure that you have the best experience possible so we encourage you to take a little time and find which class is the right fit for you!

Vinyasa

This class explores the interaction between the breath and movement as the class expertly moves through sequences to invigorate the body and calm the mind. You will find ample opportunity to deepen your practice as each week focuses on new asanas.

Restorative Low Flying Aerial:

This class is taught by certified rider biomechanics and aerial specialist Kelly Sigler with the equestrian in mind, but not limited to. It is a wonderful class for ANYONE with emphasis on trouble areas such as neck, back and hips. Wonderful for students with chronic issues such as back pain or knee replacements or anyone who just wants a supported stretch. The swings are made of a super soft jersey stretch for comfort in mind!

Vinyasa for Beginners

This class is focused on alignment, safety and introduction to breathwork. You will move slowly and mechanically though various basic postures to give the proper transitions in and out of poses to ensure safety. It is the perfect building block for the new yogi!

Warm Slow Flow Deep Stretch:

This class temperature is set at 75 to 80 degrees to adequately warm the body and prepare for opening. You start with a slow flow sequence to get the fascia moving and end with deep stretch holds. Perfect for beginners or anyone who is looking to build flexibility.

Yoga for Athletes

This class is what we call a vin/yin style. We begin by building heat through a Vinyasa flow series and ending with long stretch holds to increase flexibility and calm the central nervous system focusing on problem areas such as psoas, hips, shoulders, hamstrings and low back. This class is level 2-3, but modifications are offered throughout. Temperature is set from 75 to 80 degrees.

Aerial Yoga

This is a slow flow class incorporating the use of a prop called an aerial swing. Beginning classes will gain familiarity with the swing through light movements and then transition into deeper standing and suspended postures. Disclaimer

Gentle Stretch

This class speaks for itself! Perfect for beginners or first-time yogis. Gentle stretch is structured for patiently opening the body and calming the central nervous system to prepare for sleep. A wonderful way to end your day!

Gentle Flow

This class is a slow moving flow taught by one of our Thai massage therapists. It incorporates gentle movement to get the fascia moving and free from sticking so your body can open comfortably into stretches. Great for all levels.

Private Lessons

Kelly, a professional equestrian and Biomechanics Expert, will help you address your trouble areas and coach you with focused exercises in a 45 session with the swing. Afterward, you will have a 45-minute Biomechanics lesson aboard your horse. You will find that you have a greater awareness of what is going on in your body and how this affects your position and your horse’s movement.  Kelly will give you exercises in the saddle to address the issues, and you will feel more balanced, relaxed and your horse will feel the difference!

Thai Yoga

About Thai Yoga

What is today called “Thai yoga massage” or simply called “Thai massage” is a 2,500-year-old Ayurvedic-based body science developed and popularized by Buddha’s doctor, Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha. The philosophy behind Thai yoga massage techniques focuses on energy points called “sen.” As the Thai massage therapist stretches the participant, she also presses and massages along the sen lines or points.

Benefits Of Thai Yoga

Today, therapists utilize ancient and modern healing techniques combining acupressure, massage and assisted yoga postures. Clients are able to relieve body stiffness, gain flexibility and stimulate energy lines which help promote overall balance throughout the body. Thai massage interacts directly with the muscular, circulatory and nervous system to enhance your body’s natural healing ability. Thai massage is a wonderful alternative if you have had a strenuous day and lack the energy for traditional yoga or if your body just needs a routine tune-up with hands on guidance!

Here at Half Moon Studio, we have a massage therapist available as well as a designated massage room. For all massage service scheduling please call or text:

Elena Bradford

Yoga Instructor

Elena's Bio

Elena has been teaching yoga for 10 years now and 200 RTY certified, as well as 300 RTY, and Aerial certified. At first, she was more focused on the physical fitness benefits. As time went on, she deepened her practice through meditation, breath, and discovering the connection between the mind and body. Through her own personal journey, she has found a new outlook on life. Having a full time job, teaching yoga, and having two small children, life can be challenging and rushed. Yoga has taught her to slow down, enjoy, appreciate, and cherish the good moments while learning and growing from the not so pleasant moments.

Yoga is great for your body, but it also teaches us patience, gratitude, and the joy of living. In today’s busy world, living in the moment is key, even it is just for the hour on your mat. In her class, her main focus is safety and proper alignment, keeping you present in the moment (mind and body) and leaving feeling balanced from a well-rounded class. She has a very strong and dedicated self-practice. Through her continuing yoga education, she is able to provide new ideas to keep her classes fresh and engaging, sprinkled with fun and good music!

Shelley Onderdonk

Yoga Instructor

Shelley's Bio

Shelley Onderdonk has been a devoted practitioner of yoga since 1997. She views yoga as a vehicle for the exploration of the infinitely fascinating relationship between the body and the mind. Through her Hatha yoga practice, she has become accustomed to using the breath to meld the physical and mental aspects of the asanas, and to meeting stress with equanimity. She reminds herself daily that the best measure of progress in yoga is how much peace you are experiencing in your life.

Shelley is certified by the White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara, CA, and has been teaching since 2010. She was inspired to start teaching in order to expose people to what her own yoga practice fosters in herself: feelings of calm, gratitude, and self-empowerment. She hopes to give her students a glimpse of how settling one’s mind on the present time/space continuum, as is practiced in Vinyasa flow yoga, can exert a profound positive impact not only on their own well-being but also upon all those with whom they come into contact. Creativity and variety are key to Shelley’s teaching style; she endeavors to deliver fresh flows, ideas, and impromptu responses to her students’ needs in every class she teaches. Mindfulness practices are taught in order to develop focus and recognize that what we think, how we feel, and how we use our bodies truly create who we are.

Above all, safety is accomplished through proper form, alignment, and self-awareness. Through teaching, Shelley has benefitted from the bliss of teacher and students joining together on a path towards self-transformation and health. Yoga practice and teaching has integrated well with many of Shelley’s life-long interests: in healing (she is a practicing holistic veterinarian); in neuroscience (which was her undergraduate major); and in movement (she was trained as a modern and classical dancer). Shelley lives with her family on their horse farm in Aiken, SC.

Kelly Sigler

Yoga Instructor

Kelly's Bio

Kelly comes at aerial yoga from the viewpoint of a horseman.  After fifteen years as an instructor of Rider Biomechanics and Natural Horsemanship as well an eventer, she needed something that could help her back and neck.

She had tried traditional yoga classes, and she had a difficult time mastering the poses and feeling confident about doing them correctly- and was worried about injuring herself more.

After consulting a good friend, she found Aruna Andes. She realized quickly how phenomenal Low Flying Aerial Yoga was and saw immediately how it could benefit herself and her students with their riding.

She became a Level 1 instructor and has continued her ongoing training with Aruna. Kelly’s focus is on low flying, restorative yoga. The goal is to help riders get out of pain or just stretch those areas that are tight! Kelly can help riders assess where the asymmetry is in their body and recommend exercises in the swing to address it. You will not only feel great and ride better- but your horse will thank you!

Low flying area yoga is not just for riders- it is for anyone that needs a little support in getting into the correct “yoga” position. The swing will act as your spotter and take the weight off of your knees or wherever the problem area might be so you can start the practice safely and get positive results.

Kelly uses a very special aerial yoga swing called the “Booty Bag.” After beginning her teaching, she quickly found how difficult it was to find affordable, good quality swings. Most of the swings on the market were made out of a type of parachute or silk material that did not give and actually weren’t super comfortable. The Booty Bag is a unique design with a very special fabric that is soft and gives. Aruna Andes, with forty plus years in the industry, designed the bag and helped find the perfect materials.

So come and try this very unique version of low flying aerial yoga offered exclusively at Half Moon!

Alexandria Edwards

Yoga Instructor

Alexandria's Bio

Alexandria is 200 RTY certified and has been teaching for the past 6 years in a variety of locations ranging from the coast of South Carolina where she was born and raised, to the mountains of Tennessee where she ran her own studio.

“I started my journey with yoga to physically change and support my athletic performance, and it wasn’t until a few years later when I found that while the physical HAD changed, it was the mental and spiritual practice that kept me coming back. The community I found in the different classes and the incredible power in coming together to connect with ourselves was truly life changing. I found that in giving the gift of non-judgement and non-harming, first to ourselves it overflows to reach those around us and every aspect of the world we come into contact with.”

In addition to being a yoga teacher here Alexandria also runs a honey company called The Honey Trust, and is a dedicated dog and horse mom in the hours in between!

Rebecca Goldberg

Massage Therapist

Rebecca's Bio

When Rebecca was first introduced to yoga she immediately felt a strong connection to the practice. In the beginning it was the physical benefits of yoga that first drew her to the yoga mat. As her practice grew she began to understand and feel the deeper effects of a regular yoga practice. As her practice got stronger so did her spirit, body and mind as she learned to use yoga as a light of self exploration to sine light on the dark, closed off areas of her body, mind and spirit

She felt compelled to study yoga more in depth while studying other forms of healing. She has a background in Thai Yoga Therapy and Bioenergy Healing. The decision to study to be a yoga teacher felt like a natural step along the path.

Rebecca strives to lead her students safely along this path of healing mentally and physically through self-exploration, acceptance and love. She hopes for her students to leave her classes feeling more connected to themselves and the world in which they inhabit.
